Single-host deployment
Install the management panel and run game servers on the same host.
Prepare the server
Use a Linux amd64 or arm64 server with internet access and administrator privileges. The installer uses the system Docker Engine; Docker Desktop is unsupported. Ensure the server can pull GameX images from GHCR. See installer requirements for dependencies.
1. Install GameX
Run on the server:
curl -fsSLO https://docs.gamexserver.com/install/install-compose.sh &&
sudo bash install-compose.sh --applyIf Docker is missing, the script installs it on supported systemd hosts. Existing Docker must meet the version requirements.
The script installs latest by default. To choose a specific version, add --version 1.2.0 to the installation command and confirm that its images are available.
2. Open the management panel
- Installed on your current computer: open
http://localhost:3000/setupin your browser. - Installed on a remote server: open the panel port, then visit
http://SERVER_IP:3000/setupin your browser.
You can also use SSH forwarding without opening the panel port.
Follow the on-screen setup, create the administrator account, and sign in.
3. Create a game server
After setup, the local Daemon pairs automatically. Confirm that Local Docker is online under Nodes and Docker status is Running, then create and start your first game server.
