Brave Search
Find information through AI chat and receive source links and snippets. This plugin has no separate tab.
Get started
Ask a super administrator to install and enable the plugin for your account and workspace.
Save a key in the Brave Search API Key secret field in plugin settings. The Brave account needs access and quota for the requested APIs. Keep the key out of chat.
Type
@in a Panel or workspace conversation, selectsearch-brave, and describe your search. For example:Find official Paper server release notes. Return five results with source links.
Administrators must provide Linux amd64/arm64, Node.js 22.13.0+, and access to Brave's search API on the Panel host. If access is limited to selected workspaces, search inside an allowed workspace.
Adjust your search
Defaults are five results, all regions, English, and moderate filtering. Change the language, region, result count (1–20), or filtering in plugin settings or your current request.
Web, news, and video searches support time filters and pagination; image searches do not. Web queries allow up to 600 characters and 75 words; news, image, and video queries allow 400 characters and 50 words.
Queries are sent to Brave. Snippets may be shortened; open the source page to check details. Results do not mean the full page has been read or that media reuse is permitted.
See the official search API reference and API key authentication guide.
Common problems
- Skill missing: check whether the plugin is enabled and your account and workspace are allowed.
- Authentication or quota error: ask an administrator to check the key, API access, and quota. Charges depend on the Brave plan.
- Timeout or few results: check Panel network access, shorten the query, or remove filters before retrying.
